Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun of Wing Chun — het zijn allemaal benamingen voor één en dezelfde Chinese vechtkunst. Bij Wing Chun Lelystad leer je een praktische vorm van zelfverdediging die werkt in het echte leven. Onze lessen in Flevoland zijn gebaseerd op Practical Wing Chun Kung Fu, ontwikkeld door Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung. Hij moderniseerde de traditionele Wing Chun-technieken om ze effectiever te maken tegen hedendaagse vormen van agressie — of dat nu straatgeweld is, bedreiging in het openbaar vervoer of pesten op school. Dezelfde Wan Kam Leung heeft ook Bruce Lee getraind, wat deze stijl extra bijzonder maakt.

Practical Wing Chun Kung Fu is geschikt voor iedereen — jong of oud, man of vrouw. De nadruk ligt niet op brute kracht of lenigheid, maar op techniek, structuur, hoeken en balans. Bruce Lee

Deze grootmeesters staan samen op de bekende foto die werd genomen tijdens de opnamen van Enter the Dragon. Wan Kam Leung werd in 1988 Senior Instructor en ontwikkelde later een moderne, praktische benadering van Wing Chun voor échte zelfverdedigingssituaties. In 1994 kreeg deze stijl officieel de naam Practical Wing Chun. Deze aanpak vormt ook de basis van onze Wing Chun training in Lelystad (Flevoland). Ip Man is vandaag de dag immens populair dankzij de vier Ip Man-films met Donnie Yen in de hoofdrol. En wie was de jeugdheld van Donnie Yen? Precies—Bruce Lee.
